To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Mérida International Airport.
What to Expect
Mérida Airport (code: MID) consists of a small but modern terminal with several eateries and shops. WiFi is available, and additional comfort can be found through fee-based access to one of the airport’s first-class lounges. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for locations.
Sleeping in Mérida Airport
According to a review we received in January 2019, it is not possible to sleep inside the terminal overnight. There are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the guide below or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships
Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there are lounges that you can enter by paying at the door or through a lounge membership program. More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport
ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? An ATM, operated by Santander, is available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: ground floor.
Currency Exchange – Globo currency exchange is located on the ground floor.
Duty Free & Shopping – There are a number of shops that sell everything from souvenirs to shoes to sunglasses and luggage. There is also a convenience store on the Ground and Upper Floor.
Food & Drink – Food concessions throughout the airport operate on varying schedules. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options, so if you are stuck in the airport overnight you should purchase water and snacks early. Dining options include: Tere Cazola (upper floor) • a Coffee Shop (Ground Floor) • 2 Snack Bars (International and Nation areas) • Mera Restaurante (Ground Floor) • Hacienda Montejo.
Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.
Luggage Wrapping – Secure Wrap is located on the ground floor (landside).
Mobile Charging – A reader (2019) mentioned that there are limited options for charging. The cafes have a few outlets and some can be found on the floor (Airside), which are probably intended for the cleaners but travellers are also using them.
