HBA Airport Overview

hobart airport guideTo help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Hobart Airport (code: HBA).

What to Expect

  • Hobart airport has two terminals: one for domestic flights and the other for international flights.
  • WiFi is available to help pass the time.
  • According to reviewers, this airport is closed at night after the last flight.
  • Economy class passengers can pay to use one of the first class lounges. See Airport Lounges below for locations and rates.

Sleeping in Hobart Airport

Since the airport is closed at night, sleeping here is not possible.  For daytime naps, a reader tells us “there are a series of wooden benches in domestic departures, which do not have arm rests and could be slept on – though hard. There are also two decent sized bench seats with cushioning located here: go toward gate 6, entering the corridor that comes out with toilets and gate 6 to your left. Around to the right and by the window, there are two cushioned benches that could be slept on quite comfortably if need be!   For uninterrupted sleep, there are two hotels adjacent to the airport and other nearby hotels. See Airport Hotels in the guide below for more info or read some traveller reviews for more tips.

To help us keep this guide up-to-date, you can add or update information or write a review to submit airport tips and photos. You can also visit the airport’s web site for current information.  For more airport information continue scrolling down to explore more in our Hobart Airport Guide.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.  For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.
