LGB Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Long Beach Airport.

What to Expect

Long Beach Airport (code: LGB) consists of a small, renovated art deco-style terminal. The airport features a decent selection of eateries and shops, primarily on the airside. After these services close for the night, vending machines provide the only food and drink, so plan accordingly. WiFi is available to help pass the time. There are no private lounges at this airport.

Sleeping in Long Beach Airport

long beach airport guideAfter security checkpoints close for the night, all passengers are restricted to the landside areas, and must re-clear security the next day when the checkpoints open. The facilities are described as clean, and airport staff generally accommodating to overnight sleepers. While most of the landside seating consists of hard metal benches, there are some padded couches, reportedly in the upstairs level. Bring a travel mat and/or sleeping bag for additional comfort, as the terminal building may be cold, and the few couches already taken. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport that provide free airport shuttles. See Airport Hotels in the guide below or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.
