We were planning to sleep at the airport since we had a 7am flight, but the airport closes at night so we were told to wait outside. There are some benches but it does get chilly at nights so that is not really an option. – a traveller

What to Expect
Zanzibar Airport (code: ZNZ) has a single terminal that handles domestic and international flights. A second terminal is currently under construction and expected to take on international service upon completion. Facilities are limited to an eatery and we have no details on shopping options. WiFi is available inside two airport lounges, which economy class passengers may be able to access. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.
Sleeping in Zanzibar Airport
The airport seems to be open 24 hours, but travellers report that the doors are locked at night. We do not yet have any sleep-related airport reviews. Have a backup plan if you’re planning to spend the night. For uninterrupted sleep, a nearby hotel offers shuttle service.
