"After working in Kingston for almost a year I got to know this airport all too well. Benches are reasonable for sleeping, but the floor is hard and filthy. Red Stripe is served at all hours and duty free rum can be bought for only a few bucks (or keep going for the free samples!). Don't be fooled by the early calling of your flight. Jamaican security checks your backs TWICE more on route to the plane, then you get to sit on the plane (which is baking in the sun) for at least 20-30 minutes. Give yourself the luxury of an extra 15 minutes of sleep. Security always paged us and even came and got us before the plane took off. All, in all TOLERABLE."
