"Villahermosa is a small airport located in Tabasco state about 50 miles from Palenque which is why most people use it.
- at certain times the airport is subject to large crowds as tour groups get dropped off and picked up from the airport. Within minutes the airport is chaos so try to arrive there early to check in and pay your taxes.
- terminals contain 3 gates but unfortunately located side by side. Flights frequently depart at the same time and board simultaneously thru one door so make sure you get on the right plane (and then check again with the crew to make sure they are going where you want to go - flights can be 1,2 or even 3 stops).
- no showers but toilets were clean (attendant is present).
- seats are vinyl with fixed armrests; aircon is ok.
- mosquitoes present is check in area (they'll turn up when the tour groups arrive) but not in gates.
- all shops are outside the gates but there is a vendor inside the gate area serving coffee and cold drinks."
