"There is a lovely patch of grass right outside the airport not far from a cheap selection of small food bars. I would not recommend planning in advance to sleep there because I was lucky that it did not rain. The food at the airport is expensive. In Mauritius, for many people, a Westerner is not a visitor but a customer."

"ramgoolam international airport - i was there during april 2000. the airport is getting a major overhaul and a brand new look.thats why right now is a bad time for a catnap there.(pretty noisy) but the departure lounge has large upholstered chairs that are just about OK initially but after a while get frightfully uncomfy.there is a neat cafeteria which is open till about midnite but is slightly expensive.but if you have to spend the night, the entry lounge is the only place open all night and thats awfull.flights don't happen all night and the airport is shut at night so the departure lounge is out of the Q. on the whole better than many airports in asia but not there yet!!!!!!!! "
