Recent Review
Spent a night in the Male airport recently because I arrived at 2:00am and had a connecting domestic flight departing later in the morning. I didn't check out the international terminal area and instead slept in the domestic departure area. I felt safe and wasn't hassled by any of the numerous security/airport staff around. Well lit. Clean bathrooms. The restaurant between the two terminals was still open at about 2:15am when I walked past and about 6:30am when I got up for coffee. I guess it's open all night. Good food. It was chilly sleeping inside because of the air conditioner and if I find myself there again in similar circumstances I'll sleep outside near the boat taxi area, directly across the road from the terminal. In the morning in the light I could see many benches--more comfortable, more private, less chilly. Had a nice after-coffee snooze there. Even at night I'd feel safe there."
