What to Expect

The secondary airport in the city, Taipei Songshan Airport (code: TSA) as a mid-size building that’s divided into Terminal 1 for nearby international destinations and Terminal 2 for domestic flights. Amenities include 11 eateries and a variety of shops, both landside and airside. A 7-Eleven in Terminal 2, near the train station, is open 24 hours. Free WiFi helps pass the time.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

If you are an economy class traveller, you can enter the following lounge at Surabaya airport by purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program. Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

  • VIP Rooms – There are two VIP Rooms, one for passengers on domestic flights and one for those on international flights. Location: Airside, Level 2. Lounge Access: Unknown.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside and Airside.

Baby Care Facilities – If you are travelling with an infant, there are nursing rooms for breastfeeding mothers. Locations: 8 locations total; (4) in Terminal 1 • (4) in Terminal 2, both landside and airside.

Currency Exchange – There are 7 locations throughout the airport.

Drinking Water – Thirsty? Fountains are available in both Terminals.

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty Free is available (open according to flights) along with a variety of other shops including a 7-Eleven (Terminal 2, exit to the station) which is open 24 hours.

Food & Drinks – There are eleven restaurants (both landside and airside). Hours: vary, but some are open from 6:00AM – 10:00PM.

Information Desk – Have any questions? There are 2 information desks available to provide assistance. Hours: both counters operate from 6:00AM – 10:00PM. Location: In the International Departures Hall in Terminal 1 • Between the Domestic Arrivals Hall and the domestic arrival waiting lounge in Terminal 2.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Yamato Transport Co. Ltd. is located in the International Arrivals Hall of Terminal 1. They provide locker facilities (rates range from NT60 for 3 hours to NT 360 for 24 hours) as well as luggage wrapping. Hours: 6:00AM – 10:00PM.

Luggage Wrapping – Protect your bags with plastic wrap. See the Luggage Storage and Lockers section above. Rates start at NT 200 for a bag that is under 150cm.

Medical Services – There is a nurse’s station located at the International Departure Hall, Terminal 1. Civil Aviation Medical Center is located in 3F, Terminal 1 (take the elevator by SUBWAY, 1F, International Arrival Hall, at the west side of Terminal 1). There are also 16 Automated External Defibrillators (AED) throughout the airport.

Observation Deck – Relax and watch planes taking off and landing from the vantage point of the airport’s observation deck. Location: unknown. Hours: 8:00AM – 9:00PM.

Post Office – Send your last minute postcards to friends and family from airport’s post office. Location: eastern wing of Terminal 2. Hours: 8:00AM – 5:00PM (Mon-Fri) • 8:00AM – 12:00PM (Sat) • 8:30AM – 12:00PM (Sun).

transportationAirport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Several city bus lines serve the airport, stopping at any one of eight bus stops located at the bus stand opposite T1 (International Terminal). At the bus stand, you’ll also find inter-city and destination-specific buses offering direct or express service to Taoyuan International Airport, Keelung, Window on China theme park, and other key points of interest.

Car Rentals

Hotai Leasing Corporation (HLC) offers car rental service onsite from 8:00AM – 10:30PM. Location: Landside, International Arrivals.

Hotel Shuttles

Metro

The MRT offers fast and efficient mass transportation between the airport and city center. Most MRT signage and maps are posted in four languages, including English. Trains run from about 6:00AM – 12:00AM. For more information, visit the Taipei Songhan Airport website.

Taxis

Metered taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area. Taxis can be hailed from the taxi rank, located outside of Arrivals, or on the road south of the gas station.
