I have never been so disgusted and repulsed as a traveler in an international airport as I was in my short stay at Tashkent International Airport - rfikr8

" went when I was 16 and had to spend around 5 hours there in transit. As I have an australian passport, they took it off me claiming that there was some problems with it and had it for about 4 hours. when i asked they just kept saying that they were trying hard to fix it. Now I look back they were obviously expecting a bribe which I was oblivious about at that time so I just sat there until half an hour before take off when they gave it back to me and said nothing. so if they try and scare you and say there is something wrong with your ticket and your passport, don't give in to them straight away and dont give them your passport. Just mention that you need to make a call to your country's embassy and be very persistent about asking what the problem is and why they need to hold on to it. If they know that you won't give them money, they should give in and leave you alone. other than that, crap to sleep in, all chairs are really hard and there are armrests. plus realllllllly humid in summer"
