"We were supposed to sleep in this airport but upon flying in we found that the Budget Rent-a-car person had stayed late just to get us our car. Thank god for him" (Jessica)
"Horrible nights sleep, but did manage to sleep until half 8 the following morning, woken up by the sound of Italians laughing at us." (brendy_éire)

My girlfriend and me had an early flight departure and we didn't want to pay for sleeping. There is no cheap accommodation in Charleroi or close to the airport (the cheapest is the hotel Formule 1: 40 Euro, 4km away from the airport).
This airport is made for low cost flights: the main lobby consists in a long hall which is quite new and quite well made. There is just one single floor so you have to find a good place on the floor where all the people are.
We arrived at about 9 pm and noticed the few hidden places where we could lay our mattress and our sleeping bags: the good place we noticed are close to the bay windows. Such places are for instance between the bay window and billboards. The best place is close to the arrival and is at the corner on your left when you enter in the airport. There, you are very good hidden and you can protect your luggage very good. (By the way, remember that the arrival place is quite quiet till 8 to 9 am, so it's good if you want to sleep late).
So we slept there. At about 11 pm, many other 'hidden' places where already occupied by people laying on the floor. We could sleep quite good (it's colder in the night, so take something warm!). At 4:30 am, an airport guy came to us and told us to begin to get up slowly... We didn't do it and it was no problem. We got up at about 8 am, at this time they began to clean this part of the airport.
PS: I heard that there are cheap coffees & snacks vending machines when you go down the stairs near to the arrival hall. Going down leads to a place for the staff, but I heard that everyone can go there. I haven't tried it.
