"I always try to arrive at airports in plenty of time to avoid rushing like a headless chicken. It usually works except in Khabarovsk. The queues are more like rugby scrums. I had to show I had checked onto the flight before I could cough up the inevitable 'departure' tax. I had a problem with an old bloke trying to get someone to take a taped up box to post in the USA. The security was surly with queues were first come, first pushed out of the way free for all. The only saving grace about the departure gate was I could get out of Russia. Grim is a very apt description."
