I was on a trip to Ireland, and I needed to take 3 flights. I arrived at Gran Canaria around 21.30, and my next flight started at 3 in the morning, so I had a lot of hours to spend on the airport.
I went through the controls to the boarding gates, my baggage was sent directly to madrid. First I tried to keep me awake, but at midnight I was tired and desired to sleep.
There were a lot of chairs and nobody to see, not every chair has a armrest, so I could lay down without problems. The security were somewhere near.
For one hour I could sleep perfectly, but at 1 in the morning some staff walked near to me talking.
I think that if I needed to sleep more, I could have done it, only there where no more time. The worst thing, I wasn't prepared for the low temperature due to de air-conditioning, so I get a cold some days later, it is Spain, all the last days there was more than 20C.
This airport is a quiet place, with lot of chairs to sleep, once passed the controls.
