I could not make the last flight at 21:00 to Seattle that night.. The next flight was at 07:00 the next morning.. Having already flown from Hong Kong to SFO and slept most of the way, I was quite awake.. So, I elected to stay/sleep in the baggage reclaim area.. It was actually really nice.. I managed to grab a bit from the concourse pizza restaurant and took that with me..
The cleaning staff were really nice and offered to let me buy a Coke from their employee break room, at a much lower cost than the public vending machines-- so I got two-- one for me and one for the cleaner as a thank you gesture.. Took a few hours nap.. During the night a female airport police officer came buy to see if I was ok.. We chatted for a while.. She told me that staying there was fine so long as I wasn't making it my new "home"..
In the early morning I went into the lavs to freshen up and I was fine.. Got a few hours nap time in as well..
so, just how bad is this airport?
