Mombasa Airport Information

In this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Lounges

If you are an economy class traveller, you can enter these lounges at Mombasa airport either by purchasing a lounge pass or through a membership program. Visit the individual lounge page for more details (ie. facilities, hours, pass and membership information):

  • Safari Comfort Lounge - Location: Terminal 1, Airside, 1st Floor. Hours: 2 hours prior to first domestic flight departure (approx. 5:30AM) - last scheduled departure (approx. 9:00PM).
  • Safari VIP Lounge - Location: Terminal 1, Airside, 1st Floor. Hours: 2 hours prior to first international flight departure (approx. 5:00AM) - last scheduled flight departure (approx. 9:00PM). Lounge Access: Pay at the Door • Buy a lounge pass (£18 - 24 hour advance purchase is required)

Airport Hotels

If sleeping in Mombasa Airport does not appeal to you, there are hotel near the airport:

  • CoastGate Hotel - (15 minutes from the airport) Airport shuttle is available upon request, cost depends on length of stay.
  • Best Western Plus Creekside Hotel - (25 minutes from the airport) If you prefer Western luxury, this hotel is not too far from the airport. Airport transfer service is available upon request for Kes 1,700 each way.
