    Caracas Airport

Unsafe, with a lot of corruption, every body would like a little something mlike USD or food. We sleep a night at this airport because we were refused in a transit, we arrived 2 hours before our connection, but not enough for the company… unacceptable ! After it was mandatory to pay penalty, 80 $ per person ! and just to be listed in the future waiting list. Next flight was at 7am, they asked to us to be present at 1am ! and for every body it was normal ! Even Venezulan. Really if you can, not make your connection with Caracas airport, do it. If it's not possible you need enough time between your flights 5 hours is the minimum.

    Caracas Airport

BE AWARE OF YOUR STUFF!! I'm not sure of how many times did I get robbed here – or someone I was with. If you are going to travel through this airport, carry all your valuable items on a carry on. All the luggage gets open by the military before being carried to the plane and they always keep things for themselves: laptops, cameras, jewlery and sometimes even shoes and clothes. And for the carry on, NEVER lose it of sight. There are robbers and pickpocketeers everywhere. Also, since the airport never gets manteinance, sometimes There are small fires on the luggage conveyors. Once I had to pick a partially burned bag thanks to that. Hate this airport.

    Could be much worse!

Pros: Free Wifi, plenty of light

Cons: No seating area (landside), scarce outlets

(Review by HouseofV) (These are regarding the International terminal only.) Have gotten the chance to stay overnight both landside and airside. As a Venezuelan I had ZERO intentions to actual sleep and would advise people to just try to tough if out awake. But here are my 'overnight' reviews. Landside, I arrived at almost 2am for a 7am flight. Went straight down to departures and hung around the American Airlines counters (far west) where there were already a few people lined up. I found a spot by a kiosk and just sat there for a couple of hours enjoying the free wifi. Could not find a power outlet. There are vending machines scattered throughout but I would not move too much if alone and/or with luggage. If you can stay awake until 4:30-5am, you'll be fine. Airside (sort of). Arrived at almost midnight from JFK and remained in the bag carousel area. Just before customs. There is plenty of seating and wifi. Flights are always arriving so you shouldn't be bothered to move or anything…at least until 2-3am or so. Needed some refreshments so headed out at 3am and once again, as above, hung around until 5am. When I left for the domestic terminal. All in all. Stay around people and out of trouble and you shouldn't be bothered.

    A night at the Aeropuerto

    01.02.2013

    Pros: Plenty of Lighting

    Cons: No comfort

(Review by HRies) I started by coming in on a flight from Maracaibo at 10 PM. When I got there I had to make my way to the International terminal. They had closed down the inside hallway to that terminal, so I had to walk outside to the International terminal. Easy walk with no problems. Stay on the lower level to walk there. Then I had to spend the night here at the International Terminal. I went upstairs by the Subway sandwich shop. It stayed open 24 hours. This seemed to be the place to be. I was told not to sleep downstairs. Everybody was up here for the night. A few tables with bench seating. Once you get that spot, don't leave, someone else will come by and get it. The rest of the seating was chairs at tables. Not comfortable, but seemed perfectly safe.
