Not fit for Humans to stay safely. Traumatic!

    Pros: None

Cons: Overcrowded, Filthiest Toilets, Dirty floors, seats, ceiling about to collapse, not a lot to shop/choose duty free

Flight from Jeddah to London Heathrow. Avoid this airport if possible. Chaotic, Overcrowded, Smelly, Filthiest Toilets, human faces everywhere, no loo paper, no soap, no dryer- non existent hygiene facilities inside the toilet. Not suitable for women, the elderly and children. It’s like in a cage. Immigration staff no clue of their role. Duty-free staff appear to work in a mine. Horrible airport. The worst. incomparable filth. Traumatic experience.

Crowded dirty small . Immigration are very bad temper. No place to sit down and you have to raid a bus to go to the airplane around 20 minutes. Very long queue for the boarding counter. And this airport is saudi air line terminal is very old airport more than 35 years still at same problems.

    Worst airport ever

    Pros: Nothing

Cons: Delays, wrong information on flights status screens, dirty bathrooms, crowded pathways

I would never recommend to fly from jeddah airport. They lose luggage regularly. Flight delays are a norm. Most of the staff at the airport doesn't understand English. Bathrooms are dirty and the slight status screens display incorrect flight information

An Extended Layover in South Terminal

Pros: Saudia's Lounge has wifi, and a safe place to wait for your flight

Cons: airport is shambolic, public conveniences outside of Saudia's lounge are apalling

This pertains to Terminal South the Saudia Terminal.

Transit Passengers arriving off a Saudia flight can make use of a transit lounge prior to transit security. The transit lounge is possibly the only quiet(ish) place in the terminal.

I would actually advise Business Class Passengers with any lay over longer than 6 hours to use this publically available lounge as well (there is a bathroom on site, and water and juices are available). But, please take the blanket and pillow with you from your seat as nothing is provided to help you get comfortable. (Business Class passengers can ask the crew, who in my experience have provided economy blankets and pillows for your transit).

The transit security is cursory, and I must say, the checks aren't thorough by any means, and they're slow.

The area post transit security is diabolical, there are no where near enough seats for the amount of people passing through, and the cafes are limited and very expensive.

The Saudia lounge helps though to make your transit more bearable, with coffee, food options and refreshments available around the clock. However, there is no customer service at all, and the staff are borderline agressive. So, don't expect a smile from anyone based at the airport.

The lounge has a selection of seats, but no day beds or chaise longues, so it's good for only a few hours wait. Nothing more.

Note that there is a secondary security screening at Gate 7 for UK, US, and Canada flights – and you will want to leave early to pass through these formalities (again, they're slow and not very thorough).
