You’ll find chairs/benches without armrest, not really comfy but very convenient! – Leodie
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Marseille Airport.
What to Expect
There are two terminals at Marseille Airport: Terminal 1, divided into Hall A and Hall B, and Terminal 2, which serves low-cost carriers. Construction and renovations may be ongoing, with an estimated completion in 2020. Travellers report that security can be lax and seating is limited. You’ll find a variety of shops and eateries, but your options are limited in Terminal 2. Nothing is open 24 hours, so plan ahead for snacks and drinks. Free WiFi helps pass the time. Economy class passengers can pay to enter two airport lounges. See Airport Lounges in the airport guide below for location and access information.
Where to Sleep
Overnight sleepers must stay on Floor 2 of Terminal 1’s Hall A, between the main concourse and the restaurant, where security guards patrol. (All other areas are closed overnight.) Luckily, there are comfortable benches, power outlets for device charging, and a carpeted floor if you want to spread out. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer free shuttle service. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships
Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there are lounges that you can enter by paying at the door or through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass). Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!
- Cezanne Lounge – Location: Terminal 1, Airside, Hall A. Lounge Access: Pay at the Door • Lounge membership programs. [ more lounge info ]
- Luberon Lounge – Location: Terminal 1, Airside, Hall B (France and European flights). Lounge Access: Pay at the Door • Lounge membership programs. [ more lounge info ]
