What to Expect

podgorica airport guidePodgorica Airport (code: TGD) is a small, modern terminal with 10 gates a duty free shop, and a cafe and newsstand on both the land and air sides. While small, reviewers report that the terminal is clean and has decent armrest-free seating. WiFi is available to help pass the time. Beyond that, services are limited.

Sleeping in Podgorica Airport

This airport closes down at night and travellers are not allowed to stay in the airport during the overnight hours. For uninterrupted sleep, there is a hostel and several hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the guide below or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. A Business Lounge and a few VIP Lounges are available, but none appear to belong to any lounge membership programs or offer walk-in rates.   If you are travelling first or business class, your airline can provide access to the Business Lounge.  The VIP Lounges can be reserved for an hourly fee of €150 – €200 per hour.

Coffee Cake Bakery is available in 2 locations at the airport:
» Landside: Central Hall (Hours: according to flights) • Ground Floor, in the administrative office building which is connected to the passenger terminal archway (Hours: 7:00AM – 3:00PM).
» Airside: Near Exits 4 and 5 (Hours: according to flights).

A reader tells us “Mobile charging is very limited landside. There are no designated charging places, only very few widely scattered and almost hidden power outlets serving the vending machines and kiosks, some of which were usable. One solar powered bench with USB outlets just outside the hall, most of the ports were broken (as public USB ports often are, since they are not designed for that usage)” (September 2019)

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside.

Baby Care Facilities – If you are travelling with an infant, there are 3 “Mother and Child” rooms for breast feeding and diaper-changing. Locations: International Departures (1) • International Arrivals (1) • Landside, Check-in Area (1).

Currency Exchange – CKB Bank can do foreign exchange transactions. Location: landside. Hours: 8:00AM – 10:00PM

Duty Free & Shopping – A Duty Free shop is available once you pass through security (Hours: open according to flight schedules). Before security, you are limited to convenience stores.

Information Desk – If you have any questions, visit the airport information desk for assistance. Location: Landside, between the check-in hall and Departures.

Medical Services – Urgent and emergency medical care is available at the airport clinic. Ask an airport staff member for assistance.

Taxis are readily available during airport hours of operation.

A reviewer (Sept 2019) suggests to avoid the taxi ranks at the airport. If you pre-book your taxi (transfer services, or perhaps through your hotel) you should be able to save on the rates.
