SHV Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Shreveport Regional Airport.
What to Expect
Shreveport Airport (code: SHV) consists of a small, two-level terminal with two concourses and a “Tailwind” restaurant/bar/gift shop in each, as well as on the landside between the two. After this restaurant/bar/gift shop chain closes for the night, vending machines provide only drink and snack options. WiFi is available, and there are plenty of outlets to charge mobile devices. There are no private lounges at this airport.
Sleeping in Shreveport Airport
Security checkpoints reportedly close for the night, which means all passengers are restricted to the landside areas and must re-clear security the next day when the checkpoints re-open. One traveller reported successfully sleeping in the “WiFi Lounge,” which had comfortable chairs and tables upon which to put one’s feet up. Another traveller noted that the landslide seating wasn’t comfortable, suggesting that if you plan to spend the night at this airport, you should consider bringing a travel mat and/or sleeping bag for additional comfort. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the guide below or read traveller airport reviews for more tips.
To help us keep this guide up-to-date, you can add or update information or write a review to submit airport tips and photos. You can also visit the airport’s website for current information. For more airport information, continue scrolling down to explore more in our Shreveport Airport Guide.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
