What to Expect

Commercial flights operate out of three terminals: the Domestic Terminal, the LCCT Terminal extension, and the International Terminal. Head to Floor 4 to find several eateries, then browse the shops on Floors 2 and 3. WiFi is free in the departure areas. For added comfort while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

The terminal buildings generally operate during the following hours:

  • Domestic Terminal: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM
  • International Terminal: 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Food & Drinks

Restaurants and cafés are located on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th floors. There are no 24-hour food options. Most outlets close in the evening. Vending machines offering drinks and snacks are available on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors and may be your only option late at night.

Luggage Storage & Lockers

Staffed Luggage Storage – A staffed baggage storage counter is available for items that do not fit in lockers. Storage is not available overnight once the counter closes.

  • Hours: Approximately 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Rates: Vary by size; prices typically start at around ¥400 per item per day

Coin-Operated Lockers – Coin lockers of various sizes are available throughout the terminal.

    • 1st Floor – Arrivals
    • 2nd Floor – Departure Lobby
    • 3rd Floor – Check-in area
  • Rates: From approximately ¥400 per day, depending on locker size

Mobile Charging

Power outlets and USB charging points are available throughout the terminal on all floors. Coin-operated mobile phone charging machines are also available in select areas.

Unlimited free WiFi is available at Okinawa Naha Airport. Connect to the “Free_Wi-Fi_NAHA_Airport” network. Additionally, coin-operated PCs are available both landside and airside.

Security & Safety

Sleeping in any airport can include a certain level of risk, especially when travelling alone. It’s important to take certain precautions to ensure your safety and the security of your valuables. Here are a few tips:

  • Safety First. It’s a good idea to know where the security office is located and look for video cameras where you plan to sleep. You can also ask the security personnel for advice on the safest places to spend the night.
  • Don’t Seclude Yourself. If you’re travelling alone, we recommend you stay near other travellers or close to security. This will help you feel more secure and deter potential thieves.
  • Hide Your Valuables. It’s also important to hide your valuables. Don’t leave them out in plain view, as this could make you a target for theft. Additionally, if you are a deep sleeper, you may want to padlock your bag to something or sleep with your bag up against a wall to make it harder for someone to access zippers and pockets. We have received reports of sleepers who woke up without their phones and laptop bags. The travellers were left with just their headphones and laptop bag strap.
  • Stay Alert. It’s best to stay alert and awake if you feel unsafe or uncomfortable. Drink coffee or other caffeinated beverages to help you stay awake, and remember that you can always catch up on sleep during your flight. These simple precautions can help you enjoy a safe night at the airport.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit before travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. ATMs are located on the 2nd Floor (Domestic Area) and 1st Floor (International Area).

Baby Care Facilities – Nursing rooms are available in both landside and airside areas.

Currency Exchange -Currency exchange services are available through an exchange machine in the 1st Floor Arrivals Hall (landside) and a staffed Travelex counter in the International Departures area (airside). Hours vary by location.

Dry Cleaning – Dry cleaning services are available at Brother’s Laundry on the 3rd Floor. Hours are approximately 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM.

Duty-Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available, along with a wide variety of shops selling local specialties, souvenirs, perfumes, and travel items. Most stores operate between early morning and evening, with hours varying by shop.

Information Desk – Information desks are located in key areas on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors. Operating hours vary by location.

Massages -Massage chairs are available on every floor. Full-body massage services are offered at massage booths on the 1st and 3rd floors. Hours and availability vary.

Medical Services – Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are located throughout the terminal.

Observation Deck – Observation decks offer views of aircraft takeoffs and landings and are free to access. They are located on the upper floors and operate during daytime hours.

Post Office – A mailbox is available in landside areas for sending postcards and letters.

Prayer Rooms – Prayer rooms are available in the airside area on the 4th Floor.

SIM Cards – Mobal SIM cards can be purchased at the Tourism Information Office on the 1st Floor (Arrivals). Hours vary.

Smoking – Designated smoking areas are located on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Several “limousine bus” lines serve the airport, offering comfortable transportation between the airport and destinations in the local and regional areas. You can find the limousine bus stop on the 1st Floor, outside and across from the taxi stand by the Domestic Flights terminal. Car Rentals

Car rental service is available onsite. The counter is on the first floor, in the Arrivals Lobby, Landside. Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Monorail

Yui Rail operates a monorail between Naha Airport Station (access from the 3rd floor of the parking garage) and Shuri Station, with 15 stops total. One-way trip is about 27 minutes, with service running from 6:00 AM – 11:30 PM. At the time of this update, a 1-day ticket is ¥800.

Taxis

Both short and long-distance taxis can be found at the corresponding taxi stands on the 1st Floor, outside the Domestic Flights terminal.
