Rochester Airport Information

In this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport

  • Airport Mailers - Self-mailing service for items that do not pass security. The service is available at each checkpoint.
  • Airport Tours - Airport tours are available and take one to three hours. Reservation in advance is required.
  • ATMs / Cash Machines - Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: in the food court and baggage claim.
  • Baby Care Facilities - All restrooms are equipped with baby changing tables.
  • Baggage Carts - Need a hand with your luggage? Baggage carts (Smarte Carte) are available in the baggage claim area and first level of the parking garage. Rate: $4 per card, with a 25-cent refund upon return.
  • Business Center - The Frontier Business Center offers a quiet area to work, with free use of private workstations, free WiFi and wired internet access. Data ports and telephones are also available for use for a fee. Location: Concourse A, airside. Hours: 5:00AM - 11:00PM.
  • Chapel - Location: Landside, Lower Level. Hours: open 24 hours
  • Food & Drinks - Food concessions throughout the airport operate on varying schedules, with some options open as early as 4:30AM. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options. Vending machines are also available in the airport.
  • Information Desk - It is not known if an Information Desk is available; however, there is a Visit Rochester Service Center which may be of assistance. Location: Near the Baggage Claim area. Hours: 8:00AM - 8:00PM (Mon - Fri), 10:00AM - 6:00PM (Sat) and 10:00AM - 5:00PM (Sun).
  • Luggage Storage & Lockers - Not available.
  • Mobile Charging - At the time of this update, we did not have any information about mobile charging availability. If you know, write a review or email us at guides@sleepinginairports.com.
  • Post Office - US Postal Service, UPS and FedEx mailboxes are available at the bottom of the stairs in the center observatory. Outside the airport, 5 minutes from the main entrance, there is a post office.
  • Rest Zones - Not available.
  • Shoeshine - Shoeshine service is available in concourse B.
  • Showers - Not available.
  • Smoking - Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the terminal building. Ashtrays can be found near all entrances outside the main building.
  • Viewing Area - There is a 3,800sq ft observation area open to the public. Location: Upper west area of the ticketing lobby.

Airport Hours

The airport is open 24 hours.

Keep in mind that TSA, airline check-in and baggage drop hours vary according the flight schedule. Check these hours with your airline. If you are in the public area of the terminal (landside) you will not be able to get through to the secure area of the terminal (airside) until the morning.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Rochester Transit Service (RTS) connects the airport to most areas throughout the Rochester metropolitan area. At the time of this January 2018 update, the one-way fare is $1.00. For route maps, schedules and fare information, visit the RTS website.

Car Rentals

Onsite car rental agencies include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National.
