After 24 hours of watching the Burmese airline rev the engine and search out new rubber bands (Danlup instead of Dunlop) they gave up and allowed us to fly out with Thai. - Eric

Don't even think about passing a night at the Yangon Int'l Airport, because they don't let you stay at the airport overnight. The security guards kick you out from the airport before 10pm. The airport close during the night time.
I had an early morning flight with Air Asia, so I decided to stay at the airport for the night before. I got to the airport by 7pm, but around 10pm I get kicked out from the airport by the airport security guards. I begged to stay at the airport, but the airport officials said that 'it's forbidden by the government'.
I stayed overnight at over 20 airports, but I've never get kicked out from the airport. This was the first time ever, and never happened since. So don't even think about going there at night! You'll end up coming back to the city. (They don't even let you stay outside of the airport!)
I hate the government!

Last month I was in Yangon International Airport and it was very clean, very new, not at all crowded (probably owing to recent political unrest stemming some international arrivals) and probably one of the best airports I've been to in Asia in this respect. It is a little lacking in amenities such as cafes et cetera, and I very seriously doubt you would be able to sleep there as they take their security quite seriously.

The domestic terminal, which used to serve as international terminal is pretty much what you would expect, run down, bit dirty, and the porters will try to grab your bags as you go through - but it does have a great cafe.
