Traveller Comments....
"Guayaquil's new airport is a model of cleanliness and spacious modernity. However, spacious modernity means hard metal benches, shiny marble floors and sleek, but hard surfaces, everywhere. (the Dynamo)

On my last trip to Latin America, I was sent to cover a report of the beautiful Galapagos Islands right on Ecuador which I did, I was so impress for the beauty and natural environment that surround the islands is like the clock had been completely stop over there, is a world out of this world, worth every penny, anyway, I've got into Guayaquil's International Airport about 12 a.m. from NEW YORK (JFK) and my connecting flight to the Islands was at 8 a.m., my office made a mistake on my reservations and book me a hotel for the next day, I'm sure it wouldn't being a problem if I would had just show up at the hotel, which I did not because it was almost 1 am when I was done getting my bags, so I figure I could walk around and since I had some blankets with me....let me give it a try, I found an empty spot right next to the VIP Club at Guayaquil's airport perfect to get a few hours of sleep prior boarding to the Galapagos it was a great resting place and no one bother me at all, the airport is fairly new, everything is shining, and the bathrooms looks so clean and spotless, I just wanted to share this with You, just in case, You never know, when you ended up there and Yes I would sleep here again.... felt pretty safe and on my way back from the Island I had a chance to see this charming town, cause this time I did go to a hotel and they told me they would had take me in that night, if I would had showed up....=)

I had a great experience on this new terminal at Guayaquil's Ecuador largest city, my flight from Europe got into Guayaquil at 8 pm when I clear customs and immigrations was almost 9 pm and I had a flight connection to the Galapagos Islands next day at 8:30 a.m. I checked out the place and it was spotless, So I decided to give it a try, and start walking to find a "Perfect" resting place, which I did, the stuff were very friendly asked me if I needed something to be more comfortable...I had my sleeping bag at hand, and somehow they got me a pillow...!!!
Which never happened to me on my whole life...I was so surprise I guess Guayaquil is the exception of what a good service should be. Nobody bothered me and I woke up at 7:00 a.m.perfect for start the domestic check in, once inside on the boarding area, free breakfast was available for all the passengers and we also had more breakfast aboard the plane, Airbus 320 from TAME local Ecuadorean airline, they serve the Galapagos Islands, and Guayaquil twice a day. A big A plus to this airport ***** next time I will try the hotel to see if it is a great as the airport was....until then take care guys.
