"Found these fantastic level, flat leather benches that -- believe it or not -- looked more like mattresses than seating. The best bedding I've ever had in an airport. " (Ray)

A few airport reviews from the archives

"Ottawa is a nice, newly renovated airport with a huge atrium. Had a seven hour wait for my next flight, between 0100 and 0800. No way I was going to get a 120 hotel room for a few hours sleep. By that time the departures section was empty and quiet. Found these fantastic level, flat leather benches that -- believe it or not -- looked more like mattresses than seating. The best bedding I've ever had in an airport. No hassles. No announcements. Try the benches on the far far left of the third floor (the check-in level), and you'll almost have complete privacy. The seating past security is not nearly as good for sleeping."

"I would say this is one of the worst airports for sleeping. I had to crash for a few hours when I misread my ticket and showed up WAY too early for my flight. There was no way I was going back to Ottawa, since a cab will run you 25, and the buses take forever. Anyway, there is NO seating anywhere except for the actual waiting areas for ticketed passengers. So there's constant noise (because it's a small airport, the gates are all constantly in use), and the damn seats all have those immovable armrests. Also, this airport seems to have the unfortunate characteristic of always being jam-packed with small loud children. Upsides: Tim Horton's on-site, nice view of the runway (if you cozy up next to the window, behind one of the rows of chairs). Needless to say, I slept like crap."
