"I was visiting Goshen (about 60 miles away) and had an early-morning flight from Ft. Wayne to El Paso, and my only good option was to get someone to drive me the previous evening. There were several hours of daylight to kill, so I went exploring the neighborhood outside and found some unused tractor-trailors out near the woods. I considered sleeping in one of them, but there were mosquitos and I was afraid of missing the flight and anyway it just seemed too weird. This is a smallish regional airport, so it all-but-completely shuts down at night. I staked out a seat (I can't remember whether it had armrests or not). The elderly guard inquired if I had a flight in the morning, afterwhich he said okay and that he'd keep an eye out for me. I think there was a cleaner who made a pass through at one point. Besides me, the guard, and the cleaner, the airport was dark, silent, and empty. The sleep wasn't fantastic, but I managed just fine. The best news was that in the morning the airline found me a flight that was leaving a few hours earlier!"
