Sleeping in Airports

Airport Adventures: Atlanta Airport

by Chris

My solution was to fill out several Post-it notes with the following: “Please wake me for the 8:35 AM flight to Savannah. Thank you.”

“I give the Atlanta airport the thumbs up not so much for the facilities but for the people. A couple of years ago, I was taking a trip from Chicago to Savannah, via Atlanta. My inbound flight from Chicago to Atlanta was delayed about 12 hours so I landed in Atlanta about 4 AM. I was really tired and a little sloshed because I spent the majority of the delay in an O’Hare bar. My plan was to snooze in front of the jetway door at the appropriate gate for the next Savannah flight. The only problem was this gate had a couple of flights going out before my Savannah flight so my passed out body would have caused some problems during boarding on these flights. My solution was to fill out several Post-it notes with the following: “Please wake me for the 8:35 AM flight to Savannah. Thank you.” I stuck these notes all over my body and put a few on the wall above me. To my surprise, someone actually woke me up in plenty of time for my flight (in truth, one person woke me up and I accidentally dozed off again and another person came over and got me up for good).”
