Sleeping in Airports

Airport Adventures: Geneva Airport

at about 12.30, when all the security lights around me suddenly shut off

“Returning from a walking trip in the Alps, we arrived at the Airport at 9.30pm to wait for our 7am flight. Geneva airport is boring as hell, with absolutely nothing to do, so at 11.30 I took a long wander around the outside and managed to get up onto the roof and take off area… The main problem occurred at about 12.30, when all the security lights around me suddenly shut off… A tad confused I returned to the main departure lounge where I found the doors locked, and all the security guards gone… My friends were just as stuck on the other side of the glass, but at least they had all their sleeping bags etc, which we had planned to use… As I had intended to return inside, I was forced instead to sleep outside on one of the doormats, in shorts and a t-shirt. I was let inside by the cleaners at 5am. My friends who stayed inside had a reasonable nights sleep, so just make sure you’re in and stay in by just after midnight!!! “
