What to Expect

Abidjan Airport (code: ABJ) has a renovated medium-sized terminal serving domestic and international destinations. Travellers will find a few eateries and several shops. For added comfort, while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter the airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for its location and rates.

Sleeping in Abidjan Airport

Overnight stays are not encouraged here, and security guards may ask travellers to leave. If you stay here, there are only two benches, landside, near the baggage wrapping machine. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Food & Drinks – Food concessions throughout the terminal operate with varying schedules. Food options include:

Information Desk – An information desk is available in the main lobby of the terminal.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Luggage Wrapping – There is a luggage wrapping service in the check-in area.

Medical Services – If you feel unwell or injure yourself, first aid services are available. Location: Main Hall, Departure Area.

Hotel Shuttles

Shuttle Buses

There are minibus shuttles run by Hotels. There is also a direct line bus from South Plateau Station to the Airport at the cost of 200 FCFA (€ 0.30 / $0.35). Hours: 5:30AM – 9:30 pm


Metered taxis are available 24 hours a day in the ground transportation area.
