What to Expect

Almería Airport (code: LEI) is a modern two-level terminal with four gates and limited shopping and dining options. WiFi is available to help pass the time. There are no private lounges at this airport.

Covid-19 Update

Conference/Meeting Hall – available

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available from 6:30AM – 9:00PM (closes at 8:00PM in the winter) in the Departures Area (airside, Floor 1). Newspapers, magazines, snacks, and travel goods are available for purchase from the convenience store in the airport lobby.

Family Services – The following services are available:

  • Children’s Area – A play area is located on the outdoor terrace.
  • Breastfeeding Room – Equipped with rocking chairs for breastfeeding, microwave, baby changing table, washbasin, hydroalcoholic gel dispenser, additional tables, children’s table and chairs. Location: Floor 0

Food & Drinks – The airport has three dining options:

  • Landside: Coffee Daily (Departures, Floor 0. Hours: according to flight schedule)
  • Airside: Baker Street (Departures, Boarding Area – Floor 1 Hours: according to flight schedule)

Information Desk – Location: Floor 0, Check-in Area.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Unavailable.

Mobile Charging – A reader tells us “There are free outlets located in the safe area nearest the wall these are the only ones available in the airport.” (September 2021)

Observation Terrace – Location: Floor 1

Pharmacy – Farmacia. Location: Departures, landside, Floor 0. Hours: 8:00AM – 10:00PM.

Police – The Police can be found at Floor 0, Departures Hall and the Civil Guard can be found at Floor 0, Baggage Claim.

The airport is open from 6:10AM – 9:45PM (winter hours) or 5:10AM – 8:45PM (summer hours).

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Almeria Airport is served by bus Route 30 (Almería-Aeropuerto-Alquilán-Retamar El Toyo) which runs daily to and from Almeria city center. The trip last 35 minutes and bus fare is €1,05. Departures are available approximately every 35 minutes and bus service is available from the airport to the city.  For information about schedules, visit the SurBus website.

The following  agencies are available onsite in the Arrivals Hall: Europcar • Goldcar • Hertz.

Taxis

Taxis are available in the ground transportation area, just outside of the Arrivals Hall. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. Extra fees apply for oversized luggage, trips to/from the airport are subject to a €4.81 fee, fares can be higher at certain times of the day, on holidays, etc. It is best to ask before you start your trip.
