What to Expect
Asheville Regional Airport (code: AVL) consists of a small, two-level terminal with seven gates, a landside cafe, and full-service restaurant and a gift shop on the airside. The airport also has vending machines, a water bottle filling station, business centre, charging stations and WiFi. Seating includes airside rocking chairs. There are no private lounges at this airport.
Sleeping in Asheville Regional Airport
Sleeping here won’t be easy, but earplugs, travel blanket and ear plugs will certainly help according to one reviewer. More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport
Art in the Airport – Rotating art and live music exhibitions, featuring local talent, are on display in the airport art gallery, located landside in the main lobby.
ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs and a cash-to-card kiosk are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside, main lobby, near the security checkpoint.
Business Center – Workstations and power outlets for mobile charging are available at the Business Center. You can access the airport’s free WiFi from here, but there are no computers available for use. Location: near Gates 1 – 3, airside.
Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to one of the children’s play areas. Locations: landside and airside.
Conference Rooms – There is a board room and small conference room available to rent with prior arrangements.
Drinking Water – Thirsty? Water bottle filling stations are available free of charge. Locations: Airside.
Duty Free & Shopping – Duty Free shopping is not available. There is a CNBC gift shop located in front of the cafe in the main lobby, and a concession stand located airside.
Food & Drinks – There are two dining options:
- Landside: Blue Ridge Trading + Tavern Cafe (Hours:4:30AM – last scheduled flight departure)
- Airside: Cinnabon (Hours: 5:00AM – 1:00PM) and Auntie Anne’s (Hours: 11:00AM – 6:00PM)
- Vending machines are also available both airside and landside.
Information Desk – Information, paging, postal services, and more are available at the Guest Services Center. Location: Baggage claim area, landside. Hours: 8:30AM until the last flight arrives.
Luggage Carts – Need a hand with your luggage? Luggage carts are available for a fee at the airport. See the Guest Services Center for assistance.
Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.
Mobile Charging – You can charge your electronics in the following locations: Business Center (near Gate 1-3) • near some benches • at some of the restaurant’s tables • airside, at any of the various Recharge Stations.
Pet Relief Area – Travelling with a 4 legged companion? The airport has an area for pets to stretch their legs, drink water and take their potty breaks. Location: Landside. Note: For airside pet-relief speak to an airline attendant.
Post Office – A post box is available Landside.
Rest Zones – There are no dedicated sleeping areas, but there are some rocking chairs located airside.
