To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Billund Airport.

What to Expect

Billund Airport (code: BLL) consist of a three-level, single terminal building with 16 gates, and a dozen or so eateries and shops, including duty free. Services close down in the evening, so plan accordingly by stocking up on snacks and beverages prior to their closing. WiFi is available, and additional comfort can be found through fee-based access to the airport’s first class lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for locations and rates.

Sleeping in Billund Airport

While airport staff are accommodating to overnight sleepers, the accommodations at Billund Airport are not comfortable, according to reviewers. Seating is limited throughout the airport, with reportedly only one bench landside, and nothing but uncomfortable individual chairs on the airside. The terminal building is described as quite cold, and the stone floor as “freezing,” so make sure you bring a sleeping bag or travel blanket. The airport is also described as “incredibly loud,” so make sure you have earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the guide below or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

Good to Know

One traveller reported that airport security provided her with a sleeping mat and blanket. There are free foosball tables in the departure hall across from Gates 8-10, and in the central hall opposite Cafe Square.
