What to Expect

Bodø Airport (code: BOO) has a small, modern terminal that serves mostly regional destinations. Facilities include a few eateries, a duty-free store, and a few convenience shops. Free WiFi helps to pass the time. There are no pay-to-use lounges.

Sleeping in Bodø Airport

It is not possible to spend the night here, as the airport closes about an hour after the last flight and opens again one or two hours before the first departure. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. The terminal is open 1-2 hours before the first flight departure until approximately 1 hour after the last flight arrival.
Staying inside the terminal overnight is not permitted.

Food concessions throughout the terminal operate with varying schedules. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options. Food options include: Hunter Bar • Negroni • Point.

Luggage StorageLuggage Storage & Lockers

A luggage storage facility can be found on the Ground Floor, close to the luggage carousels. Ring the bell by the outer baggage carousel to contact Securitas. All bags must be scanned before they can be stored. Rates: starting from NOK 100 and increasing depending on luggage size.

If you need to freshen up after your flight, a shower room is available at the airport. Payment can be made outside the room. Location: Ground floor of airport. Rate: NOK 50.

Free WiFi is available at Bodø Airport for four hours. Connect to the “Airport” network and select “FREE”. You can log in for more free time again after your 4 hours expires or upgrade to a paid, faster service if you like.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs, operated by Nordea Bank, are available. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Ground floor, Arrivals, by the Narvesen kiosk • Airside, 1st Floor Departures Hall, near Brygghuset Bar.

Duty-Free & Shopping – Duty-Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available 24 hours a day to passengers departing and arriving on international flights. Travel Value duty-free shop and a local product store are available to passengers departing and arriving on domestic flights.

Medical Facilities – If you are not feeling well, the airport is equipped with a sick room; it is unknown if medical services are also available.

Tax Refund -If you live outside Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland, you can claim a refund for the taxes you paid on purchases in Norway. The refund is 6.5 – 8.5% of the purchase price for food purchases and 12 – 19% on other purchases. Approximately 4000 Global Blue or Tax-Free Worldwide affiliated stores offer tax refunds on departure. Refunds through Global Blue are handled at Travel Value.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Buses 1 and 4 connect Bodø Airport to the city centre. The bus stop is located next to the main entrance. Both buses run daily from 5:40 AM – 12:10 AM, with departures every 15 minutes until 6:10 PM and less frequent departures all other times. A one-way journey between the airport and the city center takes 5 minutes by bus. Regional buses are also available from the airport to Fauske, Halsa, Beiarn, Tårnvik, Sortland and Narvik.

Car Rentals

The following car rental agencies are located on the ground floor of the terminal, to the left of the main entrance: Avis • Budget • Europcar • Hertz • Sixt.

Taxis

Taxis are available at a taxi stand in front of the main entrance to the airport terminal. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. A one-way journey between the airport and Bodø city center takes 5 minutes.
