More than an hour and the passengers stood waiting for the baggages. – Sasha
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Calicut Airport.
What to Expect
The terminal at Calicut Airport is divided into Domestic and International concourses. It seems that security processes can be slow, so arrive early for peace of mind. Facilities are limited to a few shops and food stalls, though none are open 24 hours. Free WiFi is available in designated areas including the the international check-in and SHA areas. For added comfort, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the airport guide below for its location and access information.
Where to Sleep
Overnight campers report that there are a few metal benches landside, otherwise you may need to sleep on the floor. Bring a sleeping bag or sleep mat for cushion. Additional complaints include hot temperatures and noise, so dress in layers and bring earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones. For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all services and times listed below are subject to change.
Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships
Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter by paying at the door or through a lounge membership program.
