What to Expect

Cuenca Airport (code: CUE) has a small terminal that serves a couple domestic destinations. Facilities include a few eateries and several shops. Free WiFi helps pass the time.  For added comfort, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Cuenca Airport

The airport is open from 6:00AM until the day’s last flight, usually 9:30PM, so it is not possible to spend the night. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service. See the Airport Hotels section below for more info or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter by paying at the door or through a lounge membership program. More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: There is a dedicated Banking Area available in the main hall. It is here where you will find banks, most of which have ATM’s available.

Baggage Carts – Need a hand with your bags? Luggage trolleys are located on the ground floor of the airport. Fee: $2.00 (inside terminal) • $3.00 (arrival area).

Food & Drinks – At the time of this update there were no 24 hour food concessions at the airport, but you will find:

Medical Services – Medical services are available at the Doctor’s office. Location not known. Hours: 7:00AM – 1:00PM and 3:00PM – 8:30PM (Mon – Fri).

WiFi / Internet – Free WiFi is available at Cuenca Airport for two hours upon completion or a survey or just walking around the terminal trying to find a connection. (April 2022)
