What to Expect

ekaterinburg airport guideEkaterinburg Airport (code: SVX) has two connected terminals, A and B, built within the last 15 years. Terminal A handles domestic routes, and Terminal B serves international routes. A third VIP business terminal offers upgraded amenities for a fee.

Amenities include a range of shops and eateries, and they all stay open 24 hours. Free WiFi helps pass the time. Economy class passengers can pay to enter a few airport lounges, one of which has shower facilities. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Luggage Storage & Storage

Luggage Storage is available in the Domestic Terminal A, lower Level. Rates start at 100 RUB/piece for the 1st hour to a maximum of 350 RUB for the 1st 24 hours. Each additional day after that costs 100 RUB. Winter clothing (coats, hats, footwear, etc) can also be stored for 100 RUB per day.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so check your bank’s fee schedule and daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Terminals A and B, on the 1st floor.

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: Domestic Terminal A, 2nd floor.

Currency Exchange – Sberbank offers full-service banking, including foreign currency exchange. Location: Terminal B, 1st floor, right-hand side. Global Exchange has an office in each Arrival Hall (Domestic and International terminals), open 24 hours daily.

Duty-Free & Shopping – Heinemann provides Duty-Free shopping in Domestic Terminal B, Floor 1. A small variety of shops are also available to pass the time in the airport.

Information Desk – Have any questions? There is a help desk to provide assistance. Location: Domestic Terminal B, 1st floor.

Luggage Wrapping – Services are available in Domestic Terminal A, Floor 1 and International Terminal B, Floor 2. Prices start at 500 RUB per piece.

Massage Chairs – Visit the US Medica store to relax in a massage chair. Location: Domestic Terminal A, Floor 2.

Medical Services – Free first aid is available at the medical station. Location: Terminal A, Floor 1, Domestic, Right wing. Hours: 24 a day.

Nursery Room – If you are travelling with a child under seven, you can use the Nursery Room, which includes everything you need to care for your child. Facilities include children’s and adult beds, a fully-equipped kitchen, a game room, a washing machine, a sofa with a TV in the lounge area and more. Overnight accommodation is permitted (with your children, of course). A medical clearance certificate issued by the airport medical station is required to gain access. Location: Terminal A, Domestic, Floor 1.

Pharmacy – There is a pharmacy in Terminal 2B, International, Ground Floor, near customs. Hours: 24 hours.

Post Office – Drop off your last-minute postcards to friends and family at the airport’s mailbox. Location: International Terminal B, 1st floor.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Shuttle Bus 1 links the airport to Koltsovo Railway Station in a 45-minute journey. Buses run from 5:30 AM – 11:30 PM. A single-ride ticket is 100 RUB plus 20 RUB for luggage. A longer but much more affordable option is with the regular bus Line 1, which takes approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes. The bus runs from 6:08 AM – 11:41 PM and costs 28 RUB for a single ticket.

Car Rentals

Taxis

Taxis are available in the ground transportation area 24 hours a day. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. Total trip time between the airport and city center is 30 minutes.

Train

The Koltsovo Express No.6038 and No.6040 link the airport to Ekaterinburg-Passazhirsky railway station in a 40-minute journey. As of this update, tickets are 22 – 50 RUB.
