exeter airport guideExeter Airport (code: EXT) has a small terminal that serves many domestic routes year-round as well as several seasonal destinations. Facilities include a duty-free shopping area, a couple newsstands, and three eateries. None stay open 24 hours, so plan ahead if you’re staying the night. Free WiFi is available in the Departures area and the airport lounge, which economy class passengers can pay to enter. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter by paying at the door, purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program. More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs dispensing euros and british pounds are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: Landside, in the Check-In hall.

Baby Care Facilities – Baby-changing facilities are available in rooms located next to landside and airside restrooms. Baby food and bottle warming are available on request at airport restaurants. Note: Baby food is not sold at the airport.

Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to one of the children’s play areas. Locations: Departure hall.

Conference Facilities – Conference room for up to 12 people with catering options available.

Currency Exchange – Information is not available.

Disabled Services – The airport operates in full accordance with EU Regulation no 1107/2006, and special travel assistance is available with advance booking. Disability car parking (long and short term) is available, as are a variety of reduced mobility facilities (wheel chairs, drop off points, ramps, lifts, bathrooms etc.).

Drinking Water – Thirsty? A water bottle refill station is available free of charge. Location: Airside.

Duty Free & Shopping – Exeter’s World Duty Free offers spirits, cigarettes, perfume, cosmetics, sunglasses, handbags, jewelry and watches. There is also a WHSmith located landside and airside.

Fast Track Service – As a premium service, customers with Fast Track security passes will be given priority service to ensure that waiting is kept to a minimum. Cost: £3.50. Book on-line or purchase tickets at FastTrack Machines located throughout Landside.

Food & Drink – All food concessions in the airport open at the same time as Check-In. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options. Food options include: Cove (landside) • Coastline (airside).

Information Desk – Have any questions? Visit the information desk located in the departures hall.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Observation Deck – Relax and watch planes taking off and landing from the vantage point of the airport’s observation deck. Location: near the Executive Lounge.

Showers – Not available

Smoking – Smoking is prohibited anywhere inside the terminal.

WiFi/Internet – Free WiFi is available at Exeter Airport in the Departures lounge and Executive lounge. Connect to the “Virgin WiFi” network.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Stagecoach Bus 56 offers hourly service between theairport and Exeter’s St. David’s railway station, Exeter Bus Station and Exmouth. Exeter Central Station is about 10 minutes walking distance from Exeter Bus Station. For route map, timetables and fare information, visit the Stagecoach website.

Car Rentals

Avis • Budget • Europcar offer car rental services onsite in the passenger terminal.

Taxis

Apple Central Taxis are available at the airport taxi stand, located outside of the Arrivals terminal. Other taxi companies are allowed to drop off or pick up pre-booked passengers at Car Park 1. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required if hiring Apple Central Taxis directly from the taxi stand.

Train

There are five train stations within easy reach of the airport. Cranbrook Station is the closest at 3 miles away while you will need to travel 18 miles to reach the Tiverton Parkway Station.
