What to expect
Harrisburg International Airport consists of a small, modern terminal with three concourses. There are several eateries located on the airside, and a newsstand and eatery on the landside. WiFi is available to help pass the time. Travellers who want to upgrade their waiting experience, can pay to access the airport’s first-class lounge. See Airport Lounges in the airport guide below.
Where to Sleep
As of November 2018, we have not received any sleep-related reviews since 2005. Please write a review to help future travellers! For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the airport guide below.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
Susquehanna Club – Features: TV lounge, private conference room, individual workstations, fax machine, copy machine and beverages. Location: Concourse A, near gate A2. Lounge Access: The lounge is available to frequent fliers who travel at least 25,000 miles a year from any one airline serving HIA

Free WiFi is available at Harrisburg Airport. Connect to the ” HIA Free WiFi ” network. Internet kiosks are available for a fee. Location: Airside and Landside on the 2nd floor.
More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport
ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: in the baggage claim area • on the 2nd floor, before the security checkpoint.
Currency Exchange – Not available.
Duty Free & Shopping – There is no duty-free shopping at HIA. You will find two Hudson News gift shops in the airport. Locations: Food Court, landside and Concourse B, airside). Additionally, there is a souvenir shop, airside.
Food & Drinks – Food concessions throughout the airport operate with varying schedules. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options. Vending machines are available landside.
Information Desk – Located inside the main entrance. Hours: unknown.
Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.
Massages – Location: Airside, Concourse A, next to Gate A3. Hours: 9:30AM – 6:00PM (Wed-Fri)
Observation Deck – Relax and watch planes taking off and landing from the vantage point of the airport’s observation deck. Location: 3rd Floor.
Rest Zones – There are rocking chairs located throughout the terminal for tired travellers to relax while waiting for their flights.
Showers – Not available.
Smoking Areas – Smoking is prohibited anywhere inside the airport.
The terminal building and parking lots are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, the airline ticket counters are only open during those hours with departing flights. There are no 24 hours services within the airport.
As of January 2018, Harrisburg airport is served by the following airlines: Air Canada • American Airlines • Delta • United Airlines • Southern Airways Express.
Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
Public bus route 7 serves the airport on weekdays, from 6:00AM – 8:00PM, and Saturdays, from 7:00AM – 6:00PM. For route map, schedules and fares, visit the Cattransit website.
Car rental services are handled on the ground floor of the Transportation Center, a separate building that is connected to the main terminal via a skybridge. Onsite car rental agencies include Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Payless.
Several area hotels provide airport transportation service as a courtesy to their guests. Taxis are available on the ground floor just beyond the car rental counters in the Transportation Center, a separate building that is connected to the main terminal via a skybridge. All taxis are metered and reservations are not required. Ride-share taxi pick-ups take place on the 3rd floor of the parking garage only.
The airport is located approximately two miles from the Middletown Amtrak Train station and within fifteen minutes of the downtown Harrisburg Amtrak station. Both stations are stops on the Keystone line. Connect to the train station via taxi.
