IGU Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Iguaçu Falls Airport.
What to Expect
Iguaçu Falls Airport (code: IGU) has a tiny terminal and limited amenities. There are a few shops and eateries, including a 24-hour option in the food court. Bring your own entertainment or pay to access the WiFi. For added comfort, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge and freshen up in its showers. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.
Where to Sleep
You probably won’t be the only sleeper at this airport, which is reportedly safe and quiet overnight. Come prepared with a sleeping bag or travel mat for the floor, as seating is limited to a few uncomfortable benches. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service for a fee. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security. For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.
