To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Isle of Man Airport (code: IOM).
What to Expect
- A small, but modern single-terminal international airport with basic shopping and dining options.
- Free WiFi is available to help pass the time.

Where to Sleep

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security. For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.

Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships
Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter by purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program. Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

Free WiFi is available at Isle of Man Airport in the Departures Lounge and Buffet Areas.
More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport
ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? An ATM is available. The machine dispenses Manx and English Sterling both of which are accepted throughout the island. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: in the main entrance lobby.
Currency Exchange – not available in the airport.
Duty Free & Shopping – Duty Free shopping is available Airside and a WHSmith store is available Landside.
Family Services – Parent/baby rooms are located on the ground floor of the main terminal and in the departure lounge. A baby change unit is also available in the toilets on the first floor of the terminal.
Food & Drinks – Food concessions throughout the airport operate with varying schedules. At the time of this update, we are unable to confirm the availability of any 24-hour dining options. Food options include: Café Oasis (landside) • Costa Coffee (airside) • Okells Bar (airside).
Information Desk – If you have any questions, there is an information desk. Location: Main Hall
Luggage Storage & Lockers – Location: Rendezvous Airport Services, in the check-in hall.

Observation Deck – Relax and watch planes taking off and landing from the vantage point of the airport’s observation deck. Location: Landside, First Floor.
Post Office – Send out those last few postcards by dropping them off at the mailbox located near the Information Desk.

Showers – Not available.
The airport is open from 6:15AM – 8:45PM (Mon-Sat) and 7:00AM – 8:45PM (Sun).
Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
Bus routes 1, 1A, 2, 10, 11, 11A, 12 and 12A link the airport to Douglas, Santon, Ballasalla, Castletown, Port Erin. Buses 1, 1A, 2 run during the daytime (Monday – Saturday), whereas Buses 10, 11, 11A, 12 and 12A run early mornings and evenings (Monday – Saturday and all day Sunday).
Additionally, Buses 8 and 8A run between the airport, Peel, Foxdale and Port Erin. These bus routes operate during the day (Monday – Saturday).
The following car rental agencies are available onsite: Athol Car Hire • Isle of Man Rent A Car (agent for Europcar, Hertz, National and Thrifty) • Mylchreests Car Rental (agent for Avis). Locations: near Arrivals.
Fixed-rate taxis are readily available at the taxi rank located in front of the terminal entrance.
