What to Expect
The modern, recently renovated terminal at Kaunas Airport primarily serves low-cost carriers. Facilities include a couples eateries and shops, though none are open 24 hours so plan ahead if you’re staying the night. Free WiFi helps pass the time.
Where to Sleep
Overnight campers should head upstairs for long, metal benches or carpeting to spread out – a sleeping bag provides necessary comfort. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
There are no pay-per-use lounges in the airport.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Arrivals area.
Baby Care Facilities – Available in the washrooms facilities in the Arrivals Area (Landside) and on the 2 Floor (Airside).
Currency Exchange – Medicinos Bankas offers full-service banking and currency exchange in the airport. Hours: Open at 5:20AM every day, closing time depends on the day of week, but is always between 10:45PM and 11:45PM except Thursday when it closes at 4:45PM.
Drinking Water – Thirsty? In response to traveller complaints about the price of water, the airport sells 0.5l bottled water for €1,00 (or less). Locations: Coffee Hill snack bar and Airport Travel Shop.
Duty Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available, along with a book store, convenience shop, and souvenir shop. All shops are open according to daily flight schedule.
Food & Drinks – You will find food concessions in the Arrivals Area (Landside) and in the Gated areas (Airside, 2nd and 3rd Floor) which are open according to daily flight schedules. At the time of this update, 24-hour dining is not available, but there are vending machines on the Check-in and Departures Level of the 2nd floor.
Information Desk – Location: in the Arrivals Area
Luggage Storage & Lockers – Pack & Fly offers luggage storage at a rate of €5 per bag, per calendar day. Location: Departures, landside, Check-in area. Hours: 4:00AM – 11:00PM.
Luggage Wrapping – Pack & Fly offers luggage wrapping service for a fee of €8 per bag. Location: Departures, landside, Check-in area. Hours: 8:00AM – 7:00PM or according to the flight schedule.
Mobile Charging – A reader tells us there are power outlets near the seats and mobile charger stands near the check-in counters and in the arrival hall. (June 2019)

Travel Agencies – If you are arriving in Kaunas and need local arrangements or help planning a really last minute trip abroad, there is a Litcargus Travel Agency at the airport (1st Floor) that can probably be of assistance.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
The airport is well connected to the bus system. Whether you are looking for a local bus to the city centre, you are connecting to Riga or Minsk or you have a flight with Ryanair, the airport probably has a bus for you. Note: Local city bus fare is payable via rechargeable CARD ticket-free system, good for travel on any KVT bus. CARD can be purchased and/or loaded at Narvesen convenience store, located in Arrivals, and validated upon boarding the bus.
Onsite car rental agencies include: Alamo, Autobanga, Autocom, Aviaeuropa, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, National, NeoRent, Payless, Rentis, Sixt and Trusticar.
Taxis are available in the ground transportation area of the airport. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required.
