KBV Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Krabi International Airport.

What to Expect

Krabi Airport (code: KBV) has two small terminals that handle domestic and international flights. Due to significant growth, renovations and a third terminal are in the planning stages – expect crowds in the meantime. A few shops and basic eateries are open from morning until 8:00PM, so plan ahead if you’re spending the night. Free WiFi helps pass the time.

Tickets can be purchased from the transportation booths inside the airport, and buses depart the airport when enough passengers have boarded. This service is usually available from between 8:00AM – 8:00PM, or according to flight schedules for the day.

Car Rentals

The following car rental agencies offer service onsite in the Arrivals Hall: Avis • Budget • Hertz • National • Sixt.

Shared Ride Vehicles

Travel like the locals do! If your load is light and you’re feeling adventurous, you can travel at a fraction of the price of a taxi by taking a “songthaew” (shared-ride minibus). Songthaews are not permitted on airport property, so you’ll have to catch one along the main road, which is also where they drop off passengers going to the airport.

Taxis

Prepaid flat-rate taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area. Stop at one of the transportation booths inside the airport to pay for your ride. You will receive a ticket to give to your taxi driver before boarding the taxi.
