KBV Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Krabi International Airport.
What to Expect
Krabi Airport (code: KBV) has two small terminals that handle domestic and international flights. Due to significant growth, renovations and a third terminal are in the planning stages – expect crowds in the meantime. A few shops and basic eateries are open from morning until 8:00PM, so plan ahead if you’re spending the night. Free WiFi helps pass the time.
Where to Sleep
Overnight campers can head to the arrivals area to sleep on chairs or spread out on the floor. Bring a travel mat or blanket for added comfort. For uninterrupted sleep, a nearby hotel offers shuttle service for a fee. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.
Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, all services and times listed below are subject to change. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
If you are a First or Business Class traveller you may have access to the lounges listed below. For more information, check the airline’s web site.
- Bangkok Airways Boutique Lounge – Location: Domestic Terminal, Airside.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
An air-conditioned bus service runs between the airport and Krabi Town for 100 THB, or Ao Nang for 150 THB. Tickets can be purchased from the transportation booths inside the airport, and buses depart the airport when enough passengers have boarded. This service is usually available from between 8:00AM – 8:00PM, or according to flight schedules for the day.
The following car rental agencies offer service onsite in the Arrivals Hall: Avis • Budget • Hertz • National • Sixt.
Shared Ride Vehicles
Travel like the locals do! If your load is light and you’re feeling adventurous, you can travel at a fraction of the price of a taxi by taking a “songthaew” (shared-ride minibus). Songthaews are not permitted on airport property, so you’ll have to catch one along the main road, which is also where they drop off passengers going to the airport.
Prepaid flat-rate taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area. Stop at one of the transportation booths inside the airport to pay for your ride. You will receive a ticket to give to your taxi driver before boarding the taxi.
