What to Expect

Kruger Airport (code: KMI) has a small, modern terminal with a thatched roof that complements its surroundings. Terminal facilities include several cafes and shops, though none are open 24 hours. WiFi is free, but you may need to register at the information desk for access. For added comfort while you are waiting, economy class passengers can pay to enter three airport lounges. Sleeping in Kruger Airport

We do not yet have any sleep-related airport reviews, but the airport seems to close overnight.  Have a backup plan if you’re planning to spend the night.  For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there are lounges that you can enter by paying at the door, purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program.   • KMI Airport VIP Lounge – Location: Main Terminal, Landside.  Lounge Access: Prepaid lounge pass • Lounge membership programs.
  • Charter Lounge at KMI Airport – Location: Main Terminal, airside. Lounge Access: Standard lounge fees are R200.00 per adult (R95.00 per child under 12) for a maximum of two hours.
  • Transit Lounge at KMI Airport – Location: Main Terminal, landside. Lounge Access: Standard lounge fees are R200.00 per adult (R95.00 per child under 12) for a maximum of two hours.

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: Main Terminal Building, Ground Floor.

Baby Care Facilities – If you are travelling with an infant, there are baby care rooms for breastfeeding and diaper-changing. Location: first floor.

Baggage Trolleys – Need a hand with your luggage? Baggage trolleys are available free of charge in the entrance of the main terminal building.

Currency Exchange – Imali Express Bureau de Change is located on the ground floor of the main terminal building.

Duty Free & Shopping – There are several stores that sell souvenirs, gifts, and regional products. The Convenience Store may come in handy for any last minute requirements. All stores are open from the first to the last flight of the day.
