Travel like the locals do! If your load is light and you have an abundance of patience and adventure, you can travel at a fraction of the price of a taxi by taking a “passenger taxi” (shared-ride taxi) or a “trotro” (minibus), both of which operate on fixed routes. Make sure you confirm your destination with the driver before you hop in!
“Charter taxis” are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport. There are no meters, so negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey.
