Luxembourg Airport Guide

Whether you have a layover, overnight sleepover or you are just quickly passing through, our Luxembourg Airport Guide is a great place to start planning your visit.  Here, you’ll find information on services and facilities available inside the airport – including details about airport lounges, WiFi, mobile charging points, lockers, 24-hour food options, nearby hotels, and everything in between.

Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, we are here to give you the low-down on what travellers have reported back to us during their time at Luxembourg Findel Airport.

What to Expect

  • A modern international airport with two terminals: Terminals A and B. A small variety of shops and restaurants are available.
  • Free WiFi is available. See WiFi in the airport guide below.
  • Economy class passengers can pay to enter the airport’s first class lounge. See our Airport Lounges section for locations and rates.

Where to Sleep

  • Terminal closes at night. Only passengers with tickets are permitted to stay.
  • For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the airport guide below.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Lounges

Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass). Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

Airport Hotels

If sleeping in Luxembourg Airport does not appeal to you, there are hotels near the airport:

Airport WiFi/Internet

Free WiFi is available at Luxembourg Airport. There are also 2 computer terminals providing free internet access, one can be found landside and the other is airside.

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport

ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Airside and Landside in Terminal A.

Baby Care Facilities – Baby change facilities are located throughout the airport.

Currency Exchange – Location: Landside, ground floor, opposite the check-in counters, section J. Hours: 5:15AM – 8:15PM (Mon – Fri).

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty Free shopping as well as a few other shops are available.

Food & Drinks – As of the last update, there were no 24 hour food and beverage concessions. There are, however, options available landside and airside in both Schengen and Non-Schengen areas. Hours for Landside options vary but you will find a cafe open at 5:00AM and a sandwich shop which closes at 11:00PM. Airside options are open according to flight schedules.

Information Desk – Location: Departure Hall, Landside, Ground Floor.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Mobile Charging – There is an Orange charging station, airside, just after you pass through security.

Observation Area – Relax and watch planes taking off and landing from the vantage point of the airport’s observation deck. Location: Head to the panoramic restaurant on the mezzanine level (landside) for views of the runway while grabbing a drink or snack. Hours: 11:00AM – 8:00PM.

Rest Zones – Not available.

Showers – Not available.

Smoking Areas – Location: near the boarding gates.

Airport Hours

The airport is open 3:00AM – 12:00AM. Night access permitted with tickets only.

Note: The airport’s web site states the airport opens at 4:00AM, but we had a reader send us a photo of sign at the airport that stated the airport was closed from 12:00AM – 3:00AM.

Airlines

As of February 2018, Luxembourg airport is served by the following airlines: Aegean Airlines • British Airways • easyJet • Flybe • Hahn Air • KLM • LOT • Lufthansa • Luxair • Ryanair • Swiss • TAP Portugal • Turkish Airlines • Voltea • Vueling.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Bus 16 (Eurobus) runs daily between the airport, city center, Central Station and Kirchberg, with departures as frequent as every 10 minutes. Bus 29 links the airport to Central Station, with a few stops along the way. At the time of this December 2017 update, fares for either bus are 2€, or free on Saturdays. Luxembourg Trier line 117 also serves the airport. Flibco.com shuttle buses offer frequent daily service to/from France, Belgium and Germany (Frankfurt-Hahn). Multiple departures available daily, with fares starting at 5€.

Car Rentals

The following car rental agencies are available onsite at the Gateway Level (-1): Avis/Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz/Thrifty and Sixt.

Taxi

Taxis are available at the designated area in front of the terminal.

Train

At the time of this update, a new train station is being constructed as part of the new Terminal A at Luxembourg Airport. This train station will link the airport to Central Station and the Kirchberg Plateau. Buses 16 and 29 offer service to Central Station during construction of the airport train station.
