To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Manado Sam Ratulangi International Airport.
What to Expect
Manado Airport (code: MDC) has a small terminal that handles domestic and international flights. You’ll find a few shops and eateries, some open from 4:00 AM until 12:00 AM. According to past reviewers, WiFi is free. Economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Currency Exchange – Currency exchange services are available at the airport. Location: International Arrivals Area.
Duty-Free & Shopping – A small variety of shops is available to pass the time. Four mini-markets are also available, one of which (K Mart – Location: Landside) is open from 5:00 AM – 12:00 AM if you need snacks and beverages.
Family Services – If you are travelling with small children, the following services may interest you.
- Children’s Play Area – When you want to ensure your kids burn off all their energy before their flight, take them to the children’s play area. Location: Airside, 2nd Floor, opposite Gate 2/3.
- Nursery Room – Airside, 2nd Floor, opposite Gate 4.
- Baby Stroller Rentals – Airside, 2nd Floor, central area near the Pappa Rotti Cafe.
Luggage Carts – Baggage carts are available free of charge throughout the airport. Available in the public hall.
Luggage Wrapping – Protect your bags from theft and damage by having them wrapped in plastic. Available from 3 different providers. All operate from 4:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
Prayer Room – 2 locations are available: 1st Level, Landside, beside Starbucks in the Check-in Area • 2nd Level, Airside beside the Coffee Bean smoking room.

MDC airport is connected to surrounding areas by two public bus routes. Bus fare ranges from RP 25,000 – 55,000.

Taxis
Taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area and are the only method of transportation available at the airport. Some taxis don’t have meters, so be prepared to negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey.
