What to Expect

The tiny terminal at Oaxaca Airport (code: OAX) handles both domestic and international flights. Amenities are limited to a a few eateries and shops and free WiFi. Economy class travellers can pay to enter the airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for its location and rates.

Sleeping in Oaxaca Airport

Oaxaca Airport closes from 10:00PM until 6:00AM, so overnight sleeping is not possible here. Daytime nappers have noted that all seats have armrests. In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Machines are operated by Cardtronics, Bancomer, and Santander. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Food & Drinks – Food concessions throughout the airport operate on varying schedules. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options. The options are: Huaxyacac Restaurant• Snack Bar Centeotl • Deli Calenda.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

Luggage Wrapping – Protect your bags from theft and damage by having your bags wrapped in plastic by Secure Wrap.

Mobile Charging – A reader tells us that mobile charging is available airside (5 stations with 6 sockets and 4 usb ports).  (April 2019)
