What to Expect

The tiny terminal at Oaxaca Airport handles both domestic and international flights. Amenities are limited to a a few eateries and shops and free WiFi. Economy class travellers can pay to enter the airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the airport guide below for its location and rates.

Where to Sleep

Oaxaca Airport closes from 10:00PM until 6:00AM, so overnight sleeping is not possible here. Daytime nappers have noted that all seats have armrests. For uninterrupted sleep, a couple hotels are located in the area. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

The airport is open from 6:00AM – 10:00PM. Sleeping in the airport overnight is not possible.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport


Taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport. There are no meters, so negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey.
