OLB Airport Overview

olbia airport guideTo help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Olbia Airport.

What to Expect

Olbia Airport (code: OLB) has a modest, recently built terminal that handles flights from across Europe. Amenities are modern, with a few shops and eateries and an indoor garden. Free WiFi helps pass the time. For added comfort while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Olbia Airport

Travellers report that the airport closes nightly, from approximately 11:30PM until 5:00AM, so if you arrive during these hours it will not be possible to enter.  There are benches located outside of the terminal, but bring a blanket for warmth. If you have arrived before the terminal closes and you have a ticket for next day travel, you likely won’t be kicked out.    For uninterrupted sleep and comfort, hotels are nearby. See the Airport Hotels section below for locations or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.  For more information on Europe’s Schengen Area, click here.
