To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, we are here to give you the low-down on what travellers have reported back to us about their time at Portland International Jetport.
What to Expect
Portland International Jetport consists of a small and homey terminal with 11 gates. There are a limited number of eateries and shops on the airside, and a restaurant and newsstand on the landside. WiFi is available to help pass the time. There are no private lounges at this airport.
Where to Sleep
After security checkpoints close for the night, all passengers are restricted to the landside areas, and must re-clear security the next day when the checkpoints open. There are a few armrest-free benches near the baggage claim area, and a quieter area in the reception area of the airport’s management office. If you intend to sleep in this airport, reviewers suggest bringing a travel mat and/or travel blanket, as well as earplugs/noise-cancelling headphones and eyeshade. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the airport guide below.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
