To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Tacloban Airport.

What to Expect

The small terminal at Tacloban Airport handles a few domestic routes. Facilities are limited to a small food court landside. We are unable to confirm if WiFi is available.

Where to Sleep

We have no sleep-related reviews, but this airport seems to close nightly, so have a backup plan if you’re camping out. For uninterrupted sleep, nearby hotels offer shuttle service for a fee. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Shared-Ride Minibus

Travel like the locals do! If your load is light and you’re not pressed for time, you can travel at a fraction of the price of a taxi by taking a “jeepney”. Each jeepney runs a specific route and makes several stops along the way. Be sure to confirm that your jeepney is going to your stop before you board.

Taxis

Taxis are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport. There are no meters, so negotiate a fare with the driver before starting your journey. If you are traveling light, pedicabs offer a cheaper alternative to taxis.
